Navigating Lexis+ Online
This webinar is designed for paralegals and law school students in the College of Law and Public Services.
The learning objectives for this webinar include identifying how to find:
1. Finding case law via
a. Case Citation.
b. Party names.
c. Legal Digest System.
d. Secondary sources.
2. Reading a case.
3. Determining if a case is still "good law".
4. Shepardizing a case.
This session will demonstrate effective search strategies to find case law on a specific legal issue, and how to narrow your results by jurisdiction, topic, and court level.
The legal scenario that I will use to demonstrate the above techniques will be any one of the following:
1. Battery and Assault
2. Freedom of Speech
3. Encroaching boundaries
4. Dog bite
Upon completion of this webinar, you will understand how to effectively research case law.
