What Are BiblioMetrics...And Why Should You Care?

What Are BiblioMetrics...And Why Should You Care? Online

As scholars, you may have noticed numbers or values that are assigned to different journals or articles. H-index, G-index, SCOPUS, i10--what do all these mean, and how do they impact you?

In this webinar, we will dive into the world of bibliometrics, or the numerical values assigned to journals, articles, and authors to measure their impact. Attendees will learn about the different kinds of bibliometrics, what they measure (and what they don't measure), what it means for scholars, and how to approach the system with an informed and critical mindset.

Dan Johnston, Reference and Instruction Librarian at NU, is also one of our liaison librarians to the Sanford College of Education and is a campus thought leader for AI. He also co-presents the monthly Scholarly Publishing 101 webinar.
